the resurrection

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.  Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” John 11:25‭-‬26 NLT

We, like Martha, have to know our response to this question: do you believe in eternal life? Do you have a hope in eternity? Do you see life after death? I do! It is the joy that awaits me.

Martha was grief stricken about losing her brother Lazarus, she wanted him back. She confessed, she did believe in eternal life, but was struggling with her grief in the now. Jesus had a plan in the now, He planned to raise Lazarus from the dead. Unfortunately the now does take the ones we love, and Jesus is not around to ressurect them. I know a woman who experienced heaven, and did not appreciate being brought back, heaven was where she wanted to be. Heaven is a better place.

If you do not have joy in the thought of death, settle this problem now with the Lord. Ask Him into your life, forgiving you sins, and giving you a hope for eternity. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
