full armour

Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. Ephesians 6:11 HCSB

If you are enlisted in the armed forces you do not go out to engage the enemy without you protection or weapons. If you do you would know you are in serious trouble as an unarmed soldier is unprotected.

Christians have an enemy, he prowls around like a lion looking for someone to devour. I find modern day media have many of his traits. They seek the defenseless authorities, and attack. I can almost hear: " and if you are the Son of God turn these stones into bread".

This morning the media showed Hillsong church, who had kindly put on a light display for people to drive past, as the bad and foolish church that encouraged people to congregate to look at the lights.

The same spirit that finds fault and points the finger is at large in our societies. We must choose not to be offended, and instead take up our armour, and pray God's word into the problem.

It is amazing how much prayer, praise, and the use of the word of God will accomplish. Don't talk, pray! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
