written for encouragement
For whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that we may have hope through endurance and through the encouragement from the Scriptures. Romans 15:4 HCSB

The Bible is full of encouraging stories, stories about ordinary people who did extraordinary things with their God. We see the heros endure hardship because they chose to believe there was a better way than what they had known.
Abraham believed when God called him out of Iraq, Noah believed God had instructed him to build an ark, and was saved from drowning, Moses believed God, and faced his fear to return to Egypt to lead God's people from Egypt to the promised land. David believed God had annointed him to be king, and faced 13 years of being chased by King Saul, until he received what had been promised. Joseph endured years of injustice in prison, until he was gloriously redeemed and set free to be the prime minister.
As Hebrews 11 tells us of many more ordinary people who endured to receive what had been promised by God.
Be faithful, and endure so that you will receive what God has promised you! Amen!
