in times of trouble

Every child is grateful for strong, reliable hands to lift them out of trouble. Everybody is glad of a friend who is there for them, at all times. There is a constant search for such friends.

I believe i have such a friend, Jesus. He walks through the fires, the rivers, the oceans of turmoil with me, and never leaves me. Even when I deserve to be left, He stays. I am grateful!

I also have good friends who are there for me. Today I am going sailing, well to learn to sail. I have a friend who is going to teach me. I pray she is still my friend at the end of the day. I have another friend who is willing, at a moments notice, to take my dog. He came over to play a board game last night, and I asked him to take Oscar for the day today. Oscar is having a mini holiday until Sunday.

I have two little chickens who are very dependent on me. I protect them, feed them amd confort them. They love hugs. I feel very responsible for them. I sense this is how the Lord is with me.

Loving is God's forte, His domain. I can trust Him to love me, so can you. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
