lift up your heads
Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord , strong and mighty, the Lord , mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates! Rise up, ancient doors! Then the King of glory will come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord of Hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah Psalms 24:7-10 HCSB

This is the third part of this Psalm of David. The first deals with God being Lord of all. The second speaks to clean hands and hearts.
What are the ancient doors? They are interpreted to be the doors of Jerusalem city. I can imagine big wooden doors that you see in castles. As to whether my imagination is correct, investigation of the doors of Jerusalem in David's time would reveal the truth of the matter.
However, what can we learn form this, what is God saying? These scriptures speak about the king of glory, the Lord Almighty. He is great, greater than ancient doors. Doors are destroyed, especially in war, but God remains, always everlasting.
The more mankind discovers of space the more wonder is amassed. The universe is way more ancient than we imagine. Yet our God, who created all this is the creator. How old does that make Him? Eternal! He is indeed the God of Glory! Amen!
