be kind

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31‭-‬32 NLT

Being kind sometimes means changing the subject. I have a friend who can be argumentative on topics that inflame him. You cannot argue with him as it inflames him more. Therefore a change of topic is in order. Some would say, "ditch him, have nothing to do with him". However, this friend has been faithful to me in so many ways, I must be faithful in return and avoid the hot topics. I do not see this friend every day, in fact not very often at all as I am busy with study, however, I am talking attitude of my own heart and mind.

We can build up attitudes against people, entertain thoughts of disgust when this out not be so. We are not perfect ourselves and this sort of behaviour is self-righteous and Pharisaical. What would Jesus do? He loved his motely bunch of disciples and empowered them to be His missionaries. The doubting Thomas ended up evangelizing India. I am sure Christians there are grateful that Jesus persisted with Thomas. Be kind!
