forgive them
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.

People who have power will use it wickedly, shamefully amd brutally. Jesus suffered at the hands of the ruling Romans, and the leaders of His own people.
In our time nothing has changed, if we happen to have a good leader his opponents make a campaign to so rip and tear at him, the public believe he is wicked, and not his accusers.
Jesus was a good man, He was God in the flesh, and His opponents murdered Him. Yet He willingly went to the cross to save us from our sins.
When Jesus prayed: "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." This was a divine act of forgiveness. This was agape love in action. Through this love we have all been forgiven and restored, all of the undeserving, unforgiving, brutal, and wicked are also forgiven. All! Amen!
