stop and turn back

19 And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence. Acts 3:19 TPT

This verse is Peter's answer to a crowd of people who became convicted of their sin of crucifying Jesus with the use of worthless testimonies from a rent-a-crowd.

Note that Peter says: repent and turn back. Repent means stop what you are doing, realising how wrong the path is. What did these people need to turn back to? They had rejected Jesus and gone down a road that rejected Him as the Son of God. That road would lead to eternal separation from the truth. They needed to come back and revisit the truth that Jesus was who He said He was.

Today many will hear the gospel and reject it and go down the road of eternal separation from Him. The message remains the same. Repent of your way, stop going down this road and surrender to the truth,  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Once we have repented and turned, times of refreshing, as Peter said, come to us.  We are cleansed and made whole, restored into relationship with Jesus. His love and fellowship are worth more than gold. Amen!

Me on the hill I love to climb, turn around!
