seeking

“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Matthew 6:33 TPT

If we are asked what we need or what is troubling us, what would we say? Many things are troubling us; constant disease counts, pressure to he vaccinated, lockdowns, prevention from being able to go and see our loved ones, lack of finance, lack of enjoyment. However, Matthew writes Jesus' words to us: don't be troubled about what you eat, drink, wear, enjoy but seek God's kingdom first and His right standing. In verse 24 Jesus is saying: you cannot serve God and money. Money yells very loud indeed, yet God is more important.

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to one of my study groups at uni. I had grown to love them all, it was hard. Possibly it was the first subject I felt really at home in. Yet, even in parting I must trust the Lord that I will see them again.

Also, yesterday I discovered my eldest grandson had been in hospital for emergency surgery for an appendectomy. His mum informed me that the hospital was concerned with sepsis, this indicated that his appendix may have burst. However, he was home last night doing fine, if not a little sore. He is in Brisbane, over 500kms away and I am in NSW, a state that is struggling with lockdown. I can not go even if I want to.

Last night I had a dream about being in a country like Columbia (my uni teacher is based there). There had been new elections and there was a hunt for those who opposed the winners. I am some others were in a campground having to lay low. I don't remember much of the dream other than it was troublesome and dangerous and I had to remain calm.

There are people caught in such a predicament. Afghanistan is one place that it would not be pleasant to be. However, I know Columbia is ruled by corrupt men, and is also dangerous. In both places God would be all I have that would be safe. Faith would be paramount. Amen!
