taste and see

Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him! Psalms 34:8 HCSB

Do you remember being asked, "do you want a taste?" An apple pie, a cheesecake, fresh scones, or ever a taste stew or curry. Tasting usually comes with delight, enjoyment and refreshing.

Image yourself in a place of devestation.  Your home is bombed out and you are not the run from your enemies, but you put your faith in the Lord. You stop momentarily for refreshing, of your spirit. You remind yourself to draw from the wells of salvation. Who is on your side?

This is what David does. He is on the run from Saul, goes to Gath,  the home of Goliath, the giant he slew, seeking refuge. It is a sad day when you must do this. Yet,  in the midst of this David reminds himself that His strength comes from the Lord! What a man!

We have volcanoes erupting, earthquakes, wars and rumours of war, but God has a plan. Seek Him!

I had another dream last night. Scene 1: I was about to be trained to be a hairdresser. I wanted to buy a dress and my friend Suzy told me she bought her clothes at Long Jetty (a place on the Central Coast Australia). She warned me that hairdressing was hard work, it was hard on the arms. Scene 2: I was at home cooking bacon and getting ready.(no clue here, I rarely do this) Scene 3: I was fellowshipping with either Baptist or Anglican folk. They ran a Christian school. A man, who was a snake whisperer,  (dreams can be crazy) at the Christian school, comes to me and asks me to open a bank. The leaders of the school said that there was a time that this man was expected to teach Ag but now he could devout himself full time to his speciality, snake whispering. I remembered there was a time that I wanted to open a bank but now was studying and on a different path. I went to Angela Merkel  for advice. She told me that the same man had wanted her to invest $150,000 and sell her house to invest. I was horrified. We had a good chat and I left with an impression that if I believed God was in it, I might do it. I went back to the church and many people were also interested. I was now in a dilemma, what should I do?

Who would trust a snake whisperer? Remember wisdom. Don't be pushed by anyone's opinion, need or inclination. What has God called you to do? Stay with that. Amen!
