keep asking

“Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 HCSB

Keeping on asking, knocking, seeking are godly attributes; giving up and walking away are not. I can still hear my children begging, beseeching me to be allowed to have or do something that was important to them. If it would not harm them, or someone else, I would consider.

I have 7 grandchildren. The youngest, Ollie, is especially good at this. He has a winsome face and knows how to work it to his advantage.  However, allowing his face to beat my resistance down in a matter that would hurt him would be catastrophic.  As a responsible adult I could not go there.

When my sons children turn 12 I take them on a holiday just the two of us together. At this time I have to be conscious of protecting my grandchild, whilst having fun. I am sure that God weighes this in the balance with us as well. However, He is also about us growing in faith and so resists us for a time to develop spiritual muscle.

So, keep on asking, knocking and seeking. Amen!
