footstep walking
not just by saying, “I am intimate with God,” but by walking in the footsteps of Jesus. 1 John 2:6 TPT

The previous three verses are applicable to this verse. Verse 3 states: this is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. If we want to know what these commands are we should read further. John is a good author and writes with his heart.
Jesus said: I only do what I see My Father doing. How did He see what His Father (God) was doing? He was abiding. This is something He told us to do in John 15. Abide in Me and My words will abide in you and you can ask whatever you want and it will be done for you (7).
Today I am challenged afresh with the word. Am I abiding? Am I treating others as He wants me to? Or am I back to it all being about me?
Let the day unfold!
