rest
“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. Matthew 11:28-29 HCSB

We rest after work. We always seem to like that right or need even. Rest recharges us, refreshers us, provided we do actually rest and not do something equally demanding.
How do you spend Sunday? Do you give the Lord more time or do you take it all for yourself? Do you include family and friends in your rest? Is ti a time to spend on God's work and heart?
I do a bit of both. If there is a way I can be used by God, I do that as well as church. If not I rest at home, listen to the radio, podcasts, audible books etc. I am grateful for rest. Tomorrow, until Friday, my brain is engaged in study. This is tiring at times, enjoyable at others.
Rest is found in Christ. There is nothing I can do to make myself more acceptable to the Lord. No amount of striving works. Jesus paid for my sins and now I honour Him by staying close to Him, much like Apostle John- close to His breast.
What is He saying to you today through this scripture? Come, take up My yoke and learn.
