The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes. God’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions of God are accurate down to the nth degree. David  wrote this psalm. It begins with ascribing revelation to the creation. Creation reveals God. David then turns to God and speaks of His greatness. In the last part verses 12-14 David speaks of man and perception of his sins.  He ends with the famous lines: let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord my rock and my Redeemer.

The Message puts a different perspective on this passage. The revelation of God is whole. We can trust God's word, His heart towards us is whole. He is not a man who lies. As we submit our hearts to God's word, it pulls our lives together.

Better than doctors or medicine,  God's word hits the spot. So many times I have felt disabled and said to the Lord: Too bad! I don't have money for a doctor so You are it! You must fix me! Then I get up and go, and am well. No time for morbidity and self pity!

Trust the Lord! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
