bitterness or blessing
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT

The verse for today was the last verse which begins with the word "instead.' To know what that referred to we must look at the preceeding verse which addresses bitterness, rage, anger and harsh words.
The antidote for all of these is forgiveness. To forgive one who has offended you is important for you or bitterness sets in and a bitter person is not a welcoming sight. I have known several and have had to fight against it myself. How does bitterness gain a foothold? By allowing thoughts against a person to stay in our minds. We are attacked by these thoughts and without discernment they stay. Pray for mindfulness, one that is aware of what is happening, then pray for that person. You cannot be bitter towards a person when you are praying God's best on them. Attack bitterness with blessing! Amen!
