by faith

It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left. It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command. Hebrews 11:22‭-‬23 NLT

The whole of chapter 11 is filled with people who stepped out in faith.
Joseph was sent into slavery by his siblings who were jealous. After spending some years in jail because another resentful person lied about him, Joseph began interpreting dreams. However, it was another 2 years before Joseph saw light of day. In all, Joseph was in bondage some 13 years. When finally reunited with his repentant family Joseph asks that when they leave Egypt that they take his bones with them. 400 years would transpire before this happened. That is a long time! Yet, he could see the day.

Moses parents could see that he was special amd they hid him in a basket on a river where crocodiles lived. They trusted God to open up a way, and He did, right into the place. The Pharaoh's daughter found him and decided to rescue him and make him her own. Faith took this small baby, destined to die if he stayed with his parents, into royalty.  Moses was trained as a ruler and when he finally led the children of Israel to the promised land, he was prepared. Yet intervening years would transpire where Moses would be humbled and softened to the voice of the Lord. For 40 years Moses was in the backside of the desert. During this time it did not appear that Moses would lead anything but sheep, but God had a plan.

God always has a plan!
