God's grace

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 1 John 4:11 NLT

Why do we love? Usually we respond to interest and favour from another, sometimes that favour is exponential. God's love for us is overboard, unmerited and unwarranted.

Jesus told the parable of the prodigal son to illustrate this. The son took his inheritance and squandered it. Fortunately he came to his senses and returned home to confess his sin and ask for forgiveness and an opportunity to work as a slave. He was met with forgiveness and unwarranted grace. He captured the essences of our predicament. We cannot be good enough, never will be good enough for God's grace. However, He meets us with unwarranted favour and displays forgiveness that even his first son did not understand. The first son was working to be good enough, the second son knew he was not good enough and was met with mercy and grace.

Grace is what we all want. Yield and allow God to shower your with His grace. Amen
