prayer

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

Isnt it interesting that humbling comes before prayer, genuine, effective prayer that connects with the Father.

I grew up in the catholic Church, I learned repetitive prayer that lacked connection.  It is interesting that The Lord's prayer was how to pray, not a prayer to do. When Jesus was asked by the disciples how to pray He said, "Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one." Matthew 6:9-13

In a previous verse He said:
“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again". Matthew 6:7‭NLT

So, do you think the Lord's prayer is a babbling prayer or an effective prayer?
It really depends on the one praying. You can pray the Lord's prayer and mean every word or you can mindlessly babble, your choice.
