the light

Everything was created through him; nothing—not one thing!— came into being without him. What came into existence was Life, and the Life was Light to live by. The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out. John 1:5 MSG

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God created living things and there was life. Before light darkness covered the face of the deep, but when light came darkness was mastered.

In our lives, when we invite Christ in, His light conquers all the darkness in our lives, He sets us free. As we yield to Him, all the chains fall off, our spirits are set free. We stay free by walking with the Light and not the darkness. 

Yesterday I tried to rest before going out and listened to a secular novel on Audible. I noticed when I went to read my bible a spirit snarled in my head. I realised I had been feeding an anti-Christ spirit by listening to the novel and knew I must filter what my ears and eyes experience. Today I will delete all that does not feed my spirit. I value freedom too much, and I also value my relationship with the Lord more than entertainment. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
