whatever you do..

So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you—you’re eating to God’s glory, after all, not to please them. As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God’s glory. At the same time, don’t be callous in your exercise of freedom, thoughtlessly stepping on the toes of those who aren’t as free as you are. I try my best to be considerate of everyone’s feelings in all these matters; I hope you will be, too.

When I become excited I struggle to fall asleep, and when I do I wake early. It is as if my whole body is on a drug that hypes me up. I must manage excitement, as whilst it may be fun, it takes me away from the right focus, the focus where peace and life is.

Peace and life are found in Christ. Does this mean He is a bore or a killjoy? No! He is where everything works together for my good. Excitement is just that, excitement! Excitement can be misplaced. It usually involves aspects of the flesh life, either money, relationships,  power etc. All of these can become idols, if I allow them to take control. So, where are peace and life found?

Peace and life are in seeking first His kingdom, then allowing everything else, all the above and more, to follow. By not giving centre stage to anything but Christ, I am safe, focussed, and at peace.  Amen!!
