eternal God

O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them. Isaiah 25:1 NLT

If astronomical findings about the age of the universe is true, God has been around an awfully long time and more. The most fascinating thing is that He has always had a plan, and we are part of it.

The book of Genesis shows how God had a plan for redemption of mankind, when He said to the serpent: I will put hostity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel (Gen 3:15).  What is amazing is that Jesus said in John 3:16: for God so loved the world, that He sent His only Son, so that whoever believed on Him would have eternal life. Redemption in all its fullness!

Isaiah was stating above that God planned wonderful things long ago, and now you have accomplished them. I wonder if the last statement was prophetic as Isaiah had an enormous amount of prophesy about Jesus? Isaiah was some 750 years before the birth of Christ.  Wow!

You can trust God's plans! Whilst we see and hear a lot about man's plans, he is here for  moment in time, God is eternal! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
