I will rejoice
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT
During our last drought that endured for some 3 years, many farmers had to sell their breeding stock. Their barns were empty of grain and animals. They were devastated. Drought does this, so does excessive flooding.
Today I read of one city called Lismore in NSW, Australia. The flooding had been so bad that it almost completely submerged homes. Everything was lost. Many had no insurance. I wonder at this as I have insurance, even though it means I go without other things. Perhaps the people were too poor, or perhaps negligent. Some folks would rather spend on alcohol, fast food, cigarettes and gambling. However, I do not know.
Now these folk have no homes, no furniture, and no money to buy new items with. There have been many fund raising activities, and govt grants, but no computers or phones to submit applications.
The mobile homes were sent by the government without linen, and so are held up some 50kms away. This seems odd. Linen is not hard to source, unless the provision is applied for through governments, and red tape becomes a problem.
Meanwhile, God is the provider of those of faith. Expecting humans to provide is dangerous, yet, God is faithful. Always!
