glory to obedient acts
You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. John 13:13-14 NLT
Jesus said this after washing the disciples feet. This act would have shocked the disciples. A lowly servant had this task, definitely not a rabbi. Jesus constantly heard the disciples jostling for position and pre-eminence. This final act, before He went to face His death, would be remembered.
We remember different people for different reasons. God only knows what He uses to impact the lives of others. We may assume that we will be forgotten, but as we step out in boldness to obey the Lord, we will impact lives, just as Jesus did.
The Lord bring glory to obedient acts in ways we do not understand. I am grateful to Jesus for following the Father in all He did. Amen!
