not to judge
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:17 NLT
Petty people judge! We are all petty at times, especially when overcome with the world or its noise. It is important to go to the Lord, and seek His perspective, what is He saying right now?
When Jesus appeared on the scene Israel was under dominion of Rome, there had not been a prophet in the land for nigh on 400 years. Therefore, the living word of God had been absent, and during this absence religion took hold. The Pharisees created laws and took territory. They had established themselves as a powerhouse, so much so that when Jesus started His ministry, they took exception to Him.
Nonetheless, this scripture tells us that God was not judging the world, but rather offering a way back to Him. God was not opposed to the Romans, the Greeks, the Asians. He was drawing them all into Himself with the truth Jesus came to bring.
Today, we the church have not been given a platform to judge the world, but a mandate to love it and reach out to it. Where a need is discovered, it is hoped the church will be. A good example is in the war in Ukraine. The church is going to the front lines rescuing people, bringing medicines, and the hope of the gospel.
Keep it pure guys! Amen!
