safety

I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make me live in safety. Psalms 4:8 HCSB

This short Psalm was written by a man who was constantly chased by King Saul, who wanted to kill him. David had to come to a point of trust in the Lord.

This verse is reminiscent of Jesus asleep in the boat while the storm raged. His disciples were unable to sleep, they were anxious about death. However, Jesus knew His place, His authority over nature. When they woke Him He rebuked the storm and it ceased.

David had  glimpse of what it was like trusting in the Lord. David saw, again and again, how God delivered him. He came to know he could trust the Lord to bring his future to pass. So can we! Amen!
