heritage

The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. Proverbs 18:10 NLT

I have just been reading a history of my great great grandfather Thomas Little. I can see the hand of God on my grandfather.  He was sent to Australia for supposedly stealing a 1/3 peck of coal dust. He had no prior convictions and none subsequent. He was held in a prison hulk in London waters for about 9 months before transport. During this time the convicts were used for road building.  When he arrived safely in Australia he was taken by a residing judge to care for his animals. Favour and protection followed my grandfather. Upon release to marry, he moved to a place in Gosford where I have also lived. Later he and his family relocated to a place called Bundarra, close by to where I now live.

It would have been wonderful if my grandfather kept a journal as he could read and write. He ultimately purchase several allotments of land in the local area of Bundarra. He and his wife Sophia parented 9 children.

I have been fortunate to discover relatives that belong to different of the grandparents children. One happens to be a research librarian and also called Diane (one n not two).

How good God has been to my family! How grateful am I for His love and protection. I am blessed indeed.  To be a child of God is the heritage I can claim. Amen!
