trust

The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.
Nahum 1:7 NLT

Notice the second part of this verse: He is close to those who trust Him. When we are trusted we appreciate it and do more for the one who trusts us, that is, unless we are villainous.

The Lord is trustworthy. He teaches us how to trust Him, and as we do more and more, we become closer and closer. In other words, our walls come down.

The more we trust the more we work together, the challenge is trusting through the storm, the famine and the fire. I am mindful of three young men: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. As teenagers they were taken into captivity. Along with Daniel they refused the kings food, this was their second chance to prove God's faithfulness.  The first was them being taken and not killed but given an opportunity to learn the Babylonian ways. Thr third, that we hear about, is them refusing to bow down to an idol. For this they ended up in a very hot fire. God met them there. They were not burned. God took them through a process of them learning about His faithfulness.

We can trust Him in the storm and the fire. Amen!
