worry about life

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Matthew 6:25 NLT

Our enemy has a plan to occupy our mind with worry about debts, perceived needs, potential disasters, but Jesus tells us here to not worry. What is the opposite? 

If we see ourselves as we are in Him, we are rich. We have a Father who holds all things in His hands, who created the worlds and all that they contain.

Yesterday I made a bold move to cancel an application to receive a bursary from my uni for finances in my studies. I said to the Lord: no more victim mentality, no more begging. I am Your daughter, please provide. He usually does.

Recently I had very sore feet and they  continued to hurt for around 6 weeks. Fear made me think: I must go to a doctor, buy special shoes etc. They are now better, and nothing I did made them better, I continued to walk daily.

When God is our only option we can be sure He will provide. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
