give thanks

Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Psalms 105:1 NLT

Give thanks! Praise Him! Praise instead of complaining.  When we present a praising face to others instead of a 'poor me' face, we bless and challenge others to find the same face.

On Sunday I was asked how I was doing and I said "great".  Although I face challenges I am constantly blessed with the Lord's presence. He deals bountifully with me. I can never run out of God 's presence and company. He is not stingy, He is bountiful towards us if we just make ourselves available.

Praise God He is aware of my need for companionship, and He is here. Praise Him He provides for all my financial needs. Praise Him He keeps me healthy. Praise Him He help with my study. Praise Him I have hot water to shower in (I love hot water in winter), praise Him I have warm blankets to sleep in. Praise Him I have a loverly house to live in. Most of all, praise Him for cleansing me of sin and making me right with Him.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
