Lord of my heart
but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. 1 Peter 3:15 HCSB
Making Jesus Lord in our hearts is having our affections aimed at Him. Jesus said: whever your treasure is, there will be your heart also (Matt 6:21). So, what is our treasure? Is it connection with people, family, money? Well then that is where our heart is. Ouch!
I am constantly being tested with this. When I find myself stressing about isolation or finance, I face myself with, "well, what is your treasure?" After I correct myself, and get back my focus the Lord blesses me unexpectedly. He just did it. I woke from a nap as I am fighting a bug, felt a bit lost and alone, put on my radio, and made some scones to go with the soup I had made. Suddenly I received a sms from my daughter. It was a blessing, she sent me a photo of her daughter's last school photo. Chloe is now 17 and in her final school year. She looks just like her mum, the same smile.
Having a Christian radio station to listen to is a blessing. This morning one of my Connect group messaged me asking if she could make me a meal, shop for me or anything else I needed. I was blessed and replied ' just having you there is a blessing, thanks.'
Keep walking folks, keep Jesus as Lord, and everything else will work out. Amen!
