serving

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 NLT

Serving others responsbily is something those who work with alcohol must do, it is the law. However, in Christ we must also do this and more, we serve in love, not because we are paid to do it, but because love compels us to serve.

We are grateful for the front-line workers: teachers, nurses, doctors, paramedics, fire rescue teams, army, navy and airforce personnel. . However, it was pointed out that the truck drivers who brought us food and took our garbage away were also important during the COVID pandemic.

In Ukraine the freedom fighters are important, but all the volunteers who take food and medicine to the front are also important. They are serving those who are fighting. Many of these volunteers are Christians. They take the good news with them.  Many new churches are being established at the front as well.

How can we, in our safe environments, serve others? We can serve in church,  but what about outside church? We can volunteer at hospitals, in rural fire rescue teams, in aged care facilities and more. We can serve our street communities, our non-Christian families and friends.

Seek the Lord for those He would have you serve and do it! Amen!
