the wait
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.” Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
Romans 15:2-4 NLT
Waiting patiently for scriptures to be fulfilled is the biggest challenge I have faced, as the wait has almost been 20 years. If I did not have the Lord or the encouragement from scripture I would have given up long ago.
What you do in the wait is important. I undertook to study and make myself ready. Of late the Lord has led me into more times with Him in thd evening and things are starting to happen. Little things are coming together, little answers are beginning to flow. These answers come as a surprise, as in timing surprise. I love the Lord's surprises. He is also using me greatly in prayer and I am seeing results.
I am reminded that King David started his young life out in the fields alone, keeping sheep. He had momentary greatness when he killed Goliath but then was persecuted and sent back to the wilderness for around 10-13 years before he became king. Joseph was imprisoned for 13 years. How long he was in Potiphar 's house we do not know, neither do we know how long it took for him to be taken as a slave to Egypt. Suffice to say, suffering and time worked together to make these men great.
In the wait God works on our character. He has on mine, and I am grateful. I am also grateful that 20 years was Abraham's wait for Isaac. I am not alone in the wait. I am surrounded by my heros in faith and they encourage me on.
Wait with the Lord, allow Him to form your character. Amen!
