New Life

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The New Year is a good time to examine new life.  For an old person new life looks like a new-born  baby, for a younger person a puzzle. Little people are drawn to new horns, whether they be animal or human.

What did Jesus mean when He told Nicodemus, ‘You must be born again!’ Nicodemus was an old man who struggled with the concept. Jesus explained ‘you must be born of water and the Spirit’. How then does one become a new- born in the Spirit? For me it was when He called me to Himself in repentance, I invited Him into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Then my spirit came alive, as He came to live in me.

Paul, in the above scripture nails it. Anyone who is born again belongs to Christ, and is a new creature in Him. If the old life has gone and the new come, life become new with a new outlook and perspective, one of faith.

Today begins a new chapter in time. Today we can make a fresh committment to our God and His ways. Amen!
