“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.”1 Chronicles 29:11 NLT
This scripture was part of a prayer King David prayed to the Lord after taking an offering to build the temple. After the offering was taken sacrifices were made and Solomon was crowned king in David’s stead. God did not allow David to build the temple as he was a man of war, Solomon was not.
David, in his prayer acknowledged God as the source of all blessing. God is the master of all blessing and provision. We may think we get the wealth through our own hands, yet God makes it possible, He gives us the gifts, the talents and ability.
The last verse: we adore you as the One who is over all things represented David’s heart. He knew how to live the Lord. May we also. Thank Him today for all He is and has done for you. Amen!
