Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NLT
The ability to guard my heart depends on my ability to guard my mind. If I accept an offensive or critical thought about someone then my heart is pierced with a corresponding emotion towards them. At times the impact is instantaneous, unless I am on guard and shield myself.
I notice that my enemy the devil brings things from left field, much like God does, however, his aim is to destroy my attitude of love and my peace. My God brings good surprises.
Yestersay I received a message from my autistic grandson wanting to talk. He happened to be at an interview for an after school job, and wanted to talk. As he had walked from his interview we had an extended chat on his return home, and when he arrived home he handed the phone to his siblings so I could talk to them. It was a delightful experience, and I was very grateful.
However, last week I had a nasty surprise about family which causes grief. I called a friend and we prayed about it, I gave it to God and left it there. I want His glory in my family, and I will allow Him to receive it with my trust in Him, and my praise of His handling of the matter.
On Sunday I received prophesy about God working all things out for me. I trust the Lord to do just that. Amen!
