Jesus gave His disciples the format of prayer. Deliver us from evil was one part of this prayer. Jesus knew something, His disciple Peter said, “your enemy the devil roams about looking for someone to devour “(1 Peter 5:8). Who told him that?
We have an enemy, his name is Satan. He has a multitude of demons at his command. Jesus delivered many from demonic oppression. Just because we have relegated demons to the movies does not mean they are not real and wreaking havoc in our societies. I believe the mass murders in America and elsewhere are demon inspired, as is abortion. Jesus said, “Satan comes to rob, steal and destroy, but I came to give life”. Wherever the destroyer is at work, there you will find Satan. Conversely, where people are thronging to God and miracles are happening, there is Jesus! Amen!
