When Jesus said, “It is finished!” He meant that all work to receive approval by God was covered. He paid that fee for us. We are to live in a trusting relationship with Him, at rest. To do any more is to not be satisfied with His work, and say we must pay our bit. Now, whilst seated with Him in rest from that work, He May ask us to do a certain task for Him. For example: being observant of the need in our community, being friendly and showing His joy to all, and more.
Today I did my first final essay in peace. I enjoyed it. Beforehand I took a birthday card up to my little niece who is 8 today. This afternoon I took a drive to collect a product that is normally delivered to me as I could tell the lady involved was unwell. While there I discovered her husband was suffering from a skin problem that had gone wrong. I prayed for healing for him. Then I returned home and collected my dog from my niece’s house and chatted to her mum. I discovered my niece is playing soccer tomorrow morning at 10am. I am attending. I also discovered my 17 year old niece is playing soccer tonight and I am attending. People need to know they are loved and important.
This life is not all about me and my trials. They are not a problem if I am at rest. Live at rest! Amen!
