How do I set my mind on things above? By refusing to participate in things down here that would destroy me. Around 1:30am I awoke from a fearful dream and fear was attempting to take my heart. I used the scripture: God has not given me a spirit of fear but Love, Power, and Self-Control (2 Tim 1:7). I then used controlled gratitude to put myself back to sleep. Whilst I had another wild dream, I have been reading a wild book for my exam today.
Greed is another thing that will attempt to take us out. We may not think we are in greed, however, if our mind is consumed with what we would do if we had a lot of money, it probably has.
If our mind is consumed with bitter thoughts, bitterness is attempting to set up home, kick it out and pray blessing on the person in view.
Conversely, if we are consumed with thoughts of Jesus and what He is doing, we might be in the right place. Remember Satan tried to tempt Jesus with fame and power, do what He did, tell the enemy to go. Amen!
