“Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.”
Isaiah 40:28 NLT
Today my Nepali friend and I went shopping for furniture for our new flat. The furniture is made from Mango trees, which is popular here and beautiful. I have money from the sale of my car. I had thought of keeping it just in case I have to travel home. However, I am faced with providing a good home for two women who have lived at almost below the Australian level of poverty and trusted God to provide and He has. They have been living in one room. This room has been their bedroom, kitchen and lounge room. Fortunately they have a bathroom outside of their room so not as bad as sleeping in a car, I admit.
They have prayed for two years for someone who would work with them and that they would have a good home. I have prayed for two years for women to share a home with. I did not know it would be in Nepal. We are rejoicing that we have met.
All my furniture in my previous home was old but in good condition, with the exception of one single mattress. Lo and behold we are being given a single mattress in our new flat, it is also good. My washing machine was near death as was my fridge. I am having to buy these here and if I am realistic it is a new beginning.
God’s understanding of all of us is beautiful and generous to a fault. I sensed His joy and His Spirit whispered, “I will bless you!”
As the eldest child in my family I am at the behest of responsibility. This tugs at me and now I will pray through my concerns. Thank You Lord! Amen!
