Whose interest?

“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Selfishness and judgmentalism will cause us to rise up against one another, offence gets us started. If another offends in deed or lack of, we are prone to rise up with the spirit of a snake ready to strike with the venom of Satan. The striking we do is verbal. We rip and tear each other behind backs. Who gave us rights to judge?

Jesus said, “You judge me by human standards, but I do not judge anyone.”John‬ ‭8‬:‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Here Jesus says what we do: we judge by human standards, not heavenly ones. If God is the judge, and He is, my stepping into His place is an act of idolatry. I am claiming godlike ability when I do not know what He knows.

May I rather ask to see why He sees and do what He would have me do. Amen!
