Some versions of this verse actually write: “Stop your fighting — and know that I am God, exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”
Psalms 46:10 HCSB. This, then reminds me of my children when they were little. Trying to put warm clothes on a squirming child causes you to proclaim, “Be Still!”
We squirm wanting our own way, our own plans. We are manipulated by evil spirits who seek to control our thoughts for conflict and offence. We need to be alert as our enemy roams around looking for someone to destroy (1 Peter 5:8).
Our Father wants our attention. What does He have planned? What is He saying? Where would He have us go?
Be still! Seek Him!
