Walking in love


“Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.”2 John‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How do we love? If we are unsure, read the gospels and epistles. Paul gives us a good summary in 1 Cor 13. “ “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If we evaluate how we want to respond to people by this passage we will find it blows holes in every selfish argument we may propose. 

Remember, we have an enemy prowling around attempting to divide and conquer us. We must be wise in how we approach any conflict. If you are feeling like retaliating, don’t! Always bring a matter to the cross.

I am still living with the consequences of an angry outburst. It is not worth it! Amen!

Know Your Sword!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
