His way

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Whist this thought applies to all Christians we must consider where this verse falls. From verse 5 Peter is addressing young men. He says:
“In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The first four verses are addressed to elders:
“And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t Lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.”1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In all passages we see how Jesus would have behaved and have us behave. Elders must care for the flock and not Lord it over them. Young men must honour their leaders and trust God for their time of elevation.

In all things we must trust God and take His heart for His people. It is His ways I must seek. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged. Keep Watch

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. Proverbs 4:23‭-‬27 MSG https://bible.com/bible/97/pro.4.23-27.MSG Eyes straight! Jesus taught to keep our eyes on Him. When we drive down the road we must focus straight ahead. Myself, I tend to drive where I look and therefore cannot afford to look to the right or left. This is the same in life. There are times of extreme stress when we are surrounded by problems and drama. It is important, at such times, that we control our thoughts and focus on what is ahead. By focussing on Jesus we contain our thoughts in a zone that already is successful. This is also called walking by faith in the Son of God. We can trust Him! Amen!
