Sorrow
“For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT
Do you know the difference? Does your sorrow prompt change or does the problem continue? This is the test! Is their fruit of repentance?
Sometimes to find the sorrow that results in salvation we might need to fast. Yes fast! Food should not have such a strong hold on us. Ask the Holy Spirit to help.
Yesterday I wanted to fast, as there were many things I wanted to see broken in my life and those around me. I had a godly desire. The fast was easy and it took me to a hunger for more of God. I love it when I find Him in the fast. Last night I heard from a family member, who was one of those I had been praying for. He had a ‘big-time’ encounter with God. That was quick!
I now have a greater desire to fast, not for myself or weight loss but for more of God. I myself had a revelation on an area I was wanting to overcome. He is good! Amen!
