Faith comes
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17 NIV
I am praying that faith comes through hearing the testimony of those who know Jesus.
I attend college in Nepal and in my class there are four people who do not know Jesus. I look for ways to share Him with them.
As last weekend was Easter I wished a young Korean man happy Easter. He did not know what that was. I explained that on Good Friday we remembered how Jesus died on a crosss and on Sunday rose from the dead. Here in Nepal the Christian churches have a walk through the city to a venue where they worship and hear the gospel. This young man had seen this event. Yesterday the Holy Spirit had me take my ukelele and before class I played and sang a worship song, he listened respectfully.
Whilst I am not allowed to proselytise Nepali people here in Nepal I can be a light in a dark place, I can worship Jesus in my own space. I can answer questions, and be a blessing.
The good news is Jesus died on a cross for our sins and rose again three days later to bring all who believe into eternal life.
Good News must be shared, because we love to share good news. Jesus told parables about this. He used an example of a woman who had 10 silver coins and lost one. She searched until she found it then called all her friends and neighbours to celebrate with her the finding of the lost coin. We have something greater here. We were lost in darkness and are now found in external life through the death and resurrection of Jesus. This is far greater than a lost coin being found.
