Prophesy

“And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day there will be one Lord—his name alone will be worshiped.”Zechariah‬ ‭14‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This verse speaks of the second coming of Jesus. In verse 5 Zechariah says: then the Lord God shall return and all His Holy ones with Him. Some versions say saints and angels. Jesus will return to rule the earth for 1,000 years. I am expecting to come with Him and to rule and reign with Him. I imagine the reason I am in Nepal is to prepare for a future work in Nepal. I am constrained to learn the language.

In that day seeing the Nepal I know giving up their many gods will be miraculous. They are a people who live to worship in local shrines and temples. Will they turn these shrines and temples into places to worship the Lord?

The people of Nepal long for justice. My God is a God of justice. However, He will expect to be their God and worshipped as such. The type of justice metered out in the learning to worship Him only will seem cruel. Verse 12 speaks of a plague that goes out to all those who fought against Jesus: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. This sounds like the effect of a nuclear explosion. However, many new and exotic diseases have come upon the earth so perhaps it will be a disease. Verse 17 also says, if any of the families  of the earth do not go up to worship Him each year then rain will not fall on them. So famine will result in disobedience.

We now live in the time of grace and struggle to think of Jesus as a harsh ruler. However, He will return as king and Lord. Will we be ready?
