Needing Wisdom

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is so simple! Just ask! What happens when you ask is not a type written answer or a loud ‘this is the way’ voice. Sometimes it is a quiet knowing.

I have need of wisdom for a flight I have booked in July that travels through Dubai. So far there has been no cancellations or changes, apart from a 30 minute earlier flight time. I want the opportunity to go to Dubai. In fact I am praying into this space. I will fly onto London and them Denmark for a friends wedding.

I see every time in the public space as an opportunity to share Jesus. Flying is a very good opportunity.

Saturday week I fly to Australia for a month. It will be good to visit my hometown and seek opportunities to speak to those who do not yet know Jesus. I will then train it to Brisbane and then fly to Cairns and then back to Sydney for a flight to Singapore and then to London, via Dubai.

I need wisdom to stay in peace and trust my Lord and allow Him to direct my steps.

Today I have another exam. In this one the teacher speaks a passage in Nepali and hands me a list of questions about said text to answer. To say this is a challenge would be an understatement. The text is complicated and details around the geography of an area in Nepal. Even locals would struggle with this test.

I have asked the Lord for wisdom in what to study and how to study it. I believe He is showing me what I need to know. I will do this and trust.

Yesterday I had a surprise. I expected a comprehension exam but had dictation as well. I kept going even when it was difficult. I have to trust again! All I need is a pass.

And God said…

“Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬ These powerful words cut through the darkness, light came into that darkness and it was never the same again. There is power in the words of God! Jesus said to His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Jesus knew His authority and spoke with that authority imparting Hsi authority to His disciples. We see Jesus in the gospels speaking with authority, people were healed and delivered. We have that same authority. Remember, light cuts through the darkness! Amen!

Give thanks

“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭105‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This psalm is a psalm of rememberance. It follows Abraham and his descendants to Egypt and beyond to the promised land.  We need reminding how faithful God has been to us in the past. It is good to show gratitude for all His deliverances and miracles of provision, to remember His faithfulness instead of complaining about His failure to solve a problem. Gratitude releases my heart from complaint. It changes my whole perspective about circumstances in my childhood. I no longer remember the bad done to me, but instead my heart is filled with gratitude. Speaking of God’s faithfulness brings an atmosphere of life into our current circumstances. God’s life changes things. Bring life not death! Amen!
