A holy life

“Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.”Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
 
This is a scary scripture. Without holiness we do not see the Lord. Holiness is separation from the things of the world to things of God.

Do we get this? Holiness is not just saying we are Christians, going to church and reading our bibles. If we do not allow the words we read to change us and draw us apart from worldly living we do not see God.

Jesus told us to take up our cross and follow Him. What is our cross? Dying to selfishness, refusing to react, refusing to pay back. It is following Him and learning the ways of a disciple.

If people in the world cannot see the difference between us and them, we have a problem. Our first problem is we have deceived ourselves. We are walking in darkness and not the light. Our second problem is we do not get to see God. We will hear, “begone from Me you who practice lawlessness!” (Matt 7:23).

The walk of the spirit is desth to soulishness. Amen!

No surrender to fear

““Don’t worry or surrender to your fear. For you’ve believed in God, now trust and believe in me also.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Yesterday tens of thousands of youth stormed Parliament House here in Nepal. It has been reported that 20 were killed and hundreds were injured. I had stayed away from the area believing it to be unsafe and it was. Today, now that young people have been killed, there will be a greater strife brought about by parents of those who went to the protest. Milling children is never a good idea. Nepal has had a long history of strife. It has a civil war that lasted 10 years not so long back. Corruption fills the government and the people are not happy. However, underneath there are lovely human beings who need salvation. As in any race of people, there are people who have needs. I cannot be afraid of the uprest. I have a God who is the master of peace. He is good! I must trust Him. Amen!

Guard your heart

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting.
