Freedom

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What have I been set free from? Sin! The consequences of it and the bondage to it! As much as sin wants ro entrap me to do its will, I have been set free to walk in the freedom from it, bought for me by my saviour Jesus Christ.

Being set free from the trap I must now live for the one who set me free, not selfishly gratifying my fleshly nature.

My sinful nature is ever screaming for satisfaction. It is wicked to the core. It would have me live in bitterness, ingratitude, selfishness, pride, arrogance and more. This is the life I must daily crucify. I have new life through Christ. I have His Holy Spirit living within to empower and guide me. I can choose the fruit of the Spirit over that of the flesh! Amen!

No surrender to fear

““Don’t worry or surrender to your fear. For you’ve believed in God, now trust and believe in me also.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Yesterday tens of thousands of youth stormed Parliament House here in Nepal. It has been reported that 20 were killed and hundreds were injured. I had stayed away from the area believing it to be unsafe and it was. Today, now that young people have been killed, there will be a greater strife brought about by parents of those who went to the protest. Milling children is never a good idea. Nepal has had a long history of strife. It has a civil war that lasted 10 years not so long back. Corruption fills the government and the people are not happy. However, underneath there are lovely human beings who need salvation. As in any race of people, there are people who have needs. I cannot be afraid of the uprest. I have a God who is the master of peace. He is good! I must trust Him. Amen!

Guard your heart

I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting.
