Generous Giving

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
 
Whist I am not looking at the needs of those in Jerusalem, I am in Nepal where there is plenty of need. 

Two days ago a request came out for the support of a young man who is from a tribe called Karmarong , a Tibetan tribe. This is rare. A Karmarong wants to attend Bible school in Kathmandu. His need is $50/month. I am already doing much with a little and am challenged to look at supporting this boy as evangelism is my heart. If the boy goes back to his tribe when finished and works in the field my heart would be glad.

I want an abundant harvest of souls for the Kingsom of God. I have been praying for harvesters and here I have a potential.

I cannot hold what I am given tightly, I must spread it liberally and the harvest will be great and the return will be bountiful!

Yesterday I had the privilege of sharing Jesus with three Tibetan Buddhists. The daughter was full of questions. I had a copy of a New Teatament on me and gave it to her. She was busily looking up the meanings of the words. Her father also asked many questions. I pray for the seeds to bear fruit. This is the second time I have seen the daughter and last times she was full of questions also.

Bring in the harvest, it is white!

God is our example. Forgiveness must be the centre of our attitude. If it is at the centre then annoyance and offence at others is overridden with generosity. It is also the centre when Jesus also teaches: if a man demands your shirt, give him your cloak also ( Matt 5:40). To be able to behave like this you must be secure in God. He is your source and supply. Amen.

Guard your heart

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess. The Good News

“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.”  Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Back in 1974, I turned 21. For my birthday my husband to be gave me a Bible with this verse underlined. In 1974 we were all on fire and wanting to share the gospel of Christ. It is still a potent verse today.  Why did Paul write this verse? In verse 14 he wrote: ‘I am obligated both to Greeks and babarians. Who were Babarians? Not the Romans, but rather the people of Spain and Asia Minor. Again why did he write verse 16? Why would he be ashamed of the gospel? A crucified Jew being God seemed strange to Roman ears. The Romans despised the Jews. Those crucified were the lowest of low in society.  Onky the Holy Spirit could make any testimony powerful, and this He did.
